Our Accademia Gallery guided tour in a small group with max 12 participants starts from Piazza della Signoria, the very place where the original Michelangelo’s David used to stand between 1504 and 1873.
We do believe, as locals, that only considering its original location, we can get a closer perspective of what such an iconic statue meant to the eyes of contemporaries and what an impact the statue of David had on future sculptors and on all people living or visiting Florence in those times.
We will walk through the historic center, considering the impressive patrimony of statues visible at Orsanmichele, Piazza del Duomo and obviously at Piazza della Signoria.
