This is our… Blue Walk Santa Croce

From Piazza della Repubblica we proceed eastwards towards Orsanmichele, the famous Florentine medieval grain marketplace transformed into a Church to be administered by all Florentine guilds, which have embellished its exterior with splendid bronze and marble statues ( Donatello, Nanni di Banco, Lorenzo Ghiberti, Verrocchio, Giambologna ), then we reach the political centre – the Piazza della Signoria – with an exhaustive description of this open-air sculpture museum and the overwhelming Palazzo Vecchio, still seat of all Florentine political activities.

We eventually reach Piazza Santa Croce for an extensive visit of the Franciscan Basilica, hosting treasures of medieval fresco painting and tombs of out standing Italian personalities, Michelangelo, Galileo Galilei, Machiavelli, Rossini to mention a few.
