Florentine Mosaic Tour: Artisans in Florence & Medici Chapels is a private tour, which can be purchased by a single person or by families or groups up to 10 people.
The price of € 200 is intended for group and does not vary depending on the number of participants.
The underlying theme is the Florentine mosaic. This art form is made with an ancient processing technique and, for the vividness of the colors and the accuracy of the images, it is a real form of painting in stone.
The Florentine mosaic technique allowed to decorate over the centuries some of the most beautiful buildings in Florence, and is still practiced today in some workshops.
Our tour includes:
- a guided tour of the Medici Chapels, to admire the rich Florentine mosaics that decorate the Cappella dei Principi creating a dazzling play of colors
- a guided tour with demonstration to the Laboratorio Musivo Lastrucci, an art workshop hosted in the premises of the Hospital of San Francesco de’ Macci where Master Bruno and Master Iacopo select the most beautiful semi-precious Tuscany stones, making skillful use of their colors to create shining stone paintings.

Our tour also includes a visit to the New Sacristy by Michelangelo and to the temporary exhibition The Splendor of the Medici. Pope Leo X and Florence (runned until October 6, 2013), which are part of the Medici Chapels.
You will meet our guide directly in front of your hotel (if it is located in Florence city center) or in Piazza Madonna degli Aldobrandini, outside the entrance of the Medici Chapels.
The tour can be purchased for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10 people: the price it is the same. Please enter always "1" as the number of participants.
Medici Chapels tickets and reservation fees are not included.
