At 9:00am in the company of your expert, fluent English speaking guide, you start exploring the first floor of the Pitti Palace – the Palatina Gallery – and then the enchanted Boboli Gardens, one of the most outstanding Renaissance garden in Europe, wanted by the Medici family immediately after they had purchased the property from the Pitti family. In the footsteps of great landscape architects of the past times you will follow the creation/evolution of this immense park from Tribolo, Vasari, Buontalenti , Alfonso Parigi, Giambologna and more recent architects and sculptors. The Boboli Gardens will amaze your eyes with their wealth of fountains, statues, monumental alleys and “green tunnels”, a pure pleasure relax, away from big crowds!
The Palatina Gallery at Pitti Palace, one of the most sensational painting galleries of Italy, hosted in high spectacular rooms, once inhabited by the Pitti, the Medici, the Hapsburg-Lorraine, the Bonaparte and the Savoy families.
Renaissance and Baroque paintings and guilded frames, tables with tops made with semiprecious stones, ceilings with marvellous frescoes and stuccos will leave you speechless. Major artists from the 1400s to the 1600s like Filippo Lippi, Raffaello, Tiziano, Tintoretto, Caravaggio, Guercino, Rubens, Murillo, Van Dyck just to mention a few.
At the end of the guided tour you can remain in the Boboli Gardens, or, using the same ticket, we provide you for this tour, you can visit on your own the Modern Art Gallery and Fashion museum at Pitti Palace top floor and/or the Treasure of the Grand-dukes at Pitti Palace ground floor.
